How very phlegmatic of you...
Jertown: Are you ready for some relaxing?
Me: Isn't that what we've been doing?
Jertown: Yeah, but I'm gonna step it up a notch.

Me: I saw Pinkie Pie painted on a kid’s drinking glass just now. When I looked again, she was gone and it was a cat. This must be the beginning of the end of sanity. Friend: Maybe you’re sane and the glass is crazy.

Irish
Made beer and bacon soup, and cheddar beer bread tonight. My husband’s idea. It turned out well; his ideas usually do. One day soon, I’ll own my own house and have a kitchen with a sink and a dishwasher and new counters. St. Patrick’s day shindigs will be legendary. Until then, I’m getting real good at making beer bread.

Where to begin
The most important place to begin, as a writer, is to accept your own self.  You can only write as yourself, to achieve originality.  Moving on from there you will learn to craft sentences, paragraphs, and pages.  You will imitate and adapt and make things new. But first you must take a good look at yourself, and though you see flaws, things that need improvement, you must accept yourself as you...

I want to go to a place where, instead of scraping the bare bones of character from people around me, I find they are saturated with it.  A place that everywhere I go, there are people of color, who live in color and make color in the lives of others. I want Life.

It is snowing.
Each piece dives down, finding its place in a great white puzzle that will soon hide the ground.  The roof is already white, finished. They say cold is white.  Frost and snow, both good examples.  I think cold is gray, like steel that sticks to you.  It tastes like metal.  It is sharp and bitter, but in certain places it tastes bright, almost like sugar.  The powdered snow clings to the rivulets...

Writing exercise: Tell a story using only...
“Get him out. You are hardly worth your pay. Take care not to crack the door casing.” You can’t stop shouting. Your voice is a rake on glass. Try to ease the volume and fail. Be sorry for your extremism. Sit on the couch and continue to cry. And cry, and cry. He is finally gone. Try not to be sorry. You hate him, hate them all. Hate this house, hate this city, hate the king...

John's walk, from the Ink soundtrack →
Beautiful of its own merit, and because of the original story it’s attached to; yet the song reminds me of something deeper. Do not give way to fear.

Ideal accomplishments for a normal life (my own).
1. Survive a zombie apocalypse. 2. Invent a language. 3. Master cane fighting. 4. Become a proficient forest gardener. 5. Find a portal to another world (and maybe leave this world for that one, if I like what’s on the other side). Then one could truly say, Jinn is a normal girl who has it all.

Sometimes it’s just hard to think of something to say to reality, when all your thoughts are bent on fiction.  That’s why I stare so much and lose my train of thought during conversation. Apologies.
